POWER OF WORDS IN BUSINESS

Chapter-1:
POWER OF WORDS IN POLITICAL BUSINESS

BUSINESS STRATEGY FOR SUCCESS

My Dear Young Generation Friends,

Generally, I do not want to address my audience with the words ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’.

We think, in general, these are the words of address generally practiced all over the world. However, you know, we are different in India. Have you seen any leader addressing with these words in public gatherings or in mass media.

CLOSED DOOR MEETINGS:

Mostly the words ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ are used in closed door meetings, where people are assembled in side a meeting hall. They are made to sit and hear the speech of the chief official, say the Managing Director. The audience can not leave the air conditioned meeting hall till the meeting is declared over.

The audience is at the mercy of the meeting organizers. They are expected to stay compulsorily and take notice of the deliberations of the meeting. The audience will immediately go after the meeting to attend their own business or to get relaxed immediately.

PUBLIC MEETINGS:

In the public meetings, the gathering is huge. There are gates kept open and the people are at the liberty to move out if they desire so. But, the people are attracted by the leader and his higher level followers. The mass gathering will voluntarily prepare to stay till the end of the meeting. Sometimes, they wish to stay and follow the leader as far as possible. Emotional feelings and devotion to the nation, organization or the leader will make them to enjoy the whole event.

We may see that that the people desire to occupy a closest place to hear and enjoy the contents of the speech. The leader wishes to address the public or the followers with the words that make them emotionally feel better. They should make them feel as if they have close relationship, friendship showing greater affinity mutually.

EMOTIONAL WORDS:

Thus, the words addressed in public meetings are emotionally attractive and make people come closer, cheer up and retain the rapport for a long time. In place of “ladies and gentleman”, the leaders in India prefer still more attractive and emotionally active words.

IRRESISTABLE LOVE:

We know the value of the words, “Brothers and Sisters” spelt out by Swamy Vivekanandha in the conference at Chicago, U.S.A. The speech of the Indian Saint brought great laurels to India. This speech did not show any starvation for love or friendliness.
The audience at the meeting was thrilled to experience the irresistible love showered by the saint.

LOVE AND FRIENDLINESS:

Political or philosophical leaders always want to keep their followers bound by true and natural love expressively and make them talk about the fellow feelings with devotion.

You may know more about the independent leaders of various states and countries adopting a choice of words in diverse languages. These are just practiced by leaders to call their own people with all the affection to catch their attention and make them listen to what they wish to say.

Besides, the leaders of the political parties or the rulers coin a set of words, a phrase or a slogan as it is called, that expresses patriotism, solidarity and uses them in gatherings to accelerate any political or national movement in India.

WORDS THAT BROUGHT INDEPENDENCE:

“Vandhe Madharam” and “Jai Hind” are the two sets of slogans that brought millions of youth into the national freedom movement in India. Needless to say that they played very crucial role in organizing each and every small, big or large public meetings.

They kindled fire in each participating youth and triggered the patriotic insurgency required for the revolutionary movement. “Salute to Mother Land” and “Success to India” are the meaning of these emotional words.

This was the core vocal chord or national mantra raising the voice of India, expressing unity to fight for the freedom. India, for a period of years, was quenching the thirst of independence on these words only.

Believe it or not, India might not have moved so fast-so forward with out these words.

We have understood now that words are meaningful, emotional and attractive! They are powerful crowd pullers and have unifying force built within to act forcefully to bring the desired result most successfully!

This is all about dissemination of information that brings people’s energy into a common fold to fight them selves to gain victory!

THIS IS HAPPENING IN BUSINESS ACTIVITIES TOO! LET US SEE IT IN THE NEXT!

Chapter:2

POWER OF WORDS IN POLITICAL/STATE GOVERNANCE!

BUSINESS STRATEGY FOR SUCCESS

Let us see some slogans or sets of words that brought great success to the Congress party in the political movements in India after independence.

POWERFUL SLOGANS AND SOLUTIONS:
“Jai Jawan! Jai Kishan!” played a great role in parliamentary election once, when the burning problem was national security and need for more food production. “Kharibi Hatoe” was key word in another election. ‘Success to Soldiers! Success to Peasants!’, and ‘Drive away Famine!’ are the two sets of meaningful slogans that assured ‘national safety and prosperity’ once and ‘food for all’ in another occasion.

CROWD PULLING ASSURANCES:
These slogans played an important role in assuring certain benefits to the society as a whole and alluring the voting citizens to contribute their share in winning the election.

Thereafter so many similar things had happened in politics; slogans were of great use for the political parties to propaganda their policies and programs. Political parties use selected phrases for and against each other. These words are attractive and meaningful. These words are powerful in pulling the crowd and bringing the required positive or negative results in elections.

LOVE FOR LANGUAGE:
I wish to quote certain examples from Tamil Nadu, a Southern State in India, where love for the language and adherence to culture are considered as duty and discipline. The chief ministers of the state were always addressing the people with a set of phrase of their independent choice.

EXPRESSING BLOOD RELATIONS:
While calling the attention of his camaraderie, the erstwhile chief minister, Mr. C.N.Annadurai, used to commence his speech with “Unnaithan Thambi” meaning “Calling you only my younger brother”. His name ‘Annadurai’ itself stands to mean ‘elder brother’.

Mr.M.Karunanithi, well seasoned present day politician always addresses his countrymen with “En udan pirappugale” meaning ‘you have born with me’ or ‘brothers and sisters’
MY BLOOD OF BLOODS:
M
r. M.G.Ramachandran, popularly known as MGR, (cine actor turned chief minister) had a strong crowd pulling power with these words: “En Rahthathin Raththame,” meaning ‘My blood of bloods’.

One of the cine directors of Tamil cinema, Bharathi Raja used to address with the emotional words, “En Iniya Tamil Makkale,” meaning ‘My Sweetest Tamil Citizens’.

CATCH PHRASE TO CATCH THE PEOPLE:
Thereafter so many similar things had happened in politics; slogans were of great use for the political parties to propaganda their policies and programs. Political parties use selected phrases for and against each other. These words are attractive and meaningful. These catch phrases are powerful in pulling the crowd and bringing the required positive or negative results in elections.

CREATED HISTORY:
To give an extraordinary example in Indian-Tamilnadu politics, we may say that the following set of words of a popular cine star, Rajini kanth, had acted very strongly against a chief minister said to have misruled the state.

“Antha ammavukku ottu pottal eni antha andavane vanthalum kappatha mudiyathu”, the meaning of this Tamil sentence goes thus:

“If you vote for that (misruled) lady (chief minister), hereafter, even if the God descends down, He cannot save us.”

The speech of the cine star spread like a fire of the forest and made people work against the misruled chief minister automatically. It created a history in the politics of Tamilnadu, by turning upside down of the total support.

SOCIAL PROBLEM WELL ADDRESSED:
Very recently to replace a non functional government and to ease the burden of the people, one leading political party offered a series of programs with assurance like, jobs for all and also rice for all at an unimaginable a low price in public distribution system. “Two rupees for a kilogram of rice” is the slogan that enchanted the people at the low and middle class level. And now it is 'One Rupee a kilo' and free television for all card holders.

In any case, the burning problems of the people should be analyzed thoroughly to find out the most critical one amongst them.
The most critical problem should be addressed with due care to give extraordinary solutions that make people fully satisfied.

PEOPLE > BURNING PROBLEM >GOOD SOLUTION >
KEY WORDS> PEOPLE’S PARTICIPATION> AUTOMATIC SUCCESS!
When an offer is made with select phrases that are meaningful and powerful enough to draw the people, then they will look into the significance of the solutions. The result could be that the people themselves will take part in the propaganda of the favorable policies and programs of the offer to make it a successful episode.

SUCCESS COMES IN A SIMILAR WAY IN COMMERCIAL BUSINESS ALSO.
More Easily, More Naturally, More automatically, and More Certainly!

See you in the next!
